With any
new projects a large part of the success comes from getting
the basics right, 2006 for us has been just that, the basics.
Relaying on our in house expertise and experiences in getting
us this far however, this is not the norm for Well Pict
Scotland nor of the people that work here. In order to remain
competitive we must look beyond the boundaries to areas yet
uncharted.
Our growing systems are set up in order:
-to deliver the right quality and with a low cost of
production
-to deliver efficient harvesting activities
-big focus on: flavour, shelf-life, appearance through
irrigation and nutrition
-bespoke pesticide and disease management system, whilst
protecting the environment and the wild life.
2007 will be another exciting year with a further 36 acres of
production planned, in unison with plant science inc we will
be planting 15 acres of a variety in which we believe will
revolutionise our cropping profile, three different sites and
growing systems though-out Scotland have been chosen kg per
ha, picking speeds, class 1 percentage and set up costs will
be evaluated for each of the three senarios – please watch
this space though-out 2007 for updates.
Please take a look at some of the past papers below to look at
some of the finding from Well Pict European Scotland and their
people below.
